Dr. Sears Family Essentials Cool Fuel Kids' Bars
Dr. Sears is a trusted name and when I heard they were coming out with some snack bars for kids, I was excited to let my little guy try them. He has become quite the picky eater and doesn't really eat much meat. I am often concerned with him getting the nutrients he needs and always try to give him alternatives that will allow him to get what he needs. These snack bars are available in packs of 18 bars and cost approximately $17 for the package. That's just under $1 per bar – not bad for a great, healthy, natural snack! Dr. Sears' bars are 100% natural (another thing I look for in foods that I give to my children) and they are packed with good stuff! These bars are an excellent source of Omega-3 and are loaded with Fiber and Protein! Each bar contains either 6 or 7 grams of fiber and either 5 or 6 grams of protein depending on which flavor you go with. They include no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors. The ingredients are full of things that look familiar and I feel comfortable giving to my child. Now, they SOUND great, don't they? The true test? Would my little boy actually like them? Product was received for review.
We were sent a sample of the Chunky Peanut Butter, the Chocolate Chip and the Double Fudge Brownie bars. My little guy rarely gets chocolate so this was a big treat for him. I felt better giving him these treats knowing they had the protein and Omega-3 in it he needs. Although he doesn't talk much yet, going from his reaction, his favorite bar was the double fudge brownie. He wasn't overly fond of the peanut butter bar, but he did like the chocolate chip bar! This didn't surprise me much because he's not a huge peanut butter fan period so I don't believe it had anything to do with the Dr. Sears bars! It's just his taste preference. 🙂 He's like mama and prefers chocolate!
My final thoughts: I was very happy to find snack bars like these. I love that they are all natural and full of the “good stuff” that my child needs. These are great to keep in the diaper bag for a snack while out and they will be great to have on hand for things like sitting around in the hospital next month when we have our baby and our toddler needs snacks! I even tried these personally and think they are pretty tasty!
