My husband is a huge fan of mustard and it's probably his favorite condiment, so we were eager to review Colman's Mustards. He uses it on sandwiches, hot dogs, and burgers, and I enjoy incorporating a tangy mustard into my dinner recipes to add flavor without a lot of calories. Here are some details about what sets Colman's Mustard apart from the rest:
- Made from locally grown, top-quality mustard seeds
- Gluten free and preservative free
- Certified Kosher
- Made from a blend of brown mustard seeds and white mustard seeds for a distinctive kick
- Each teaspoon only contains 10 calories
Colman's Mustard has been dubbed the ‘not so mellow yellow' and after tasting it, we can see why! In fact, the first thing my husband commented on was that it's spicier than most mustard brands, which is a good thing in our family. While I wouldn't say it's hot, it has a nice kick at the end and can really add a punch of flavor to your food.
If you need some dinner inspiration, Colman's has some great recipes using mustard. I actually found a recipe on a cooking blog for Pecan Crusted Dijon Salmon that sounds heart healthy and divine if you like fish! This would be perfect to use with the medium strength Dijon Mustard from Colman's for an easy but impressive dinner.
We would definitely purchase this mustard again, and I've noticed that even though it's a UK brand, they carry it at my regular chain grocery store for a reasonable price.
