Diary of a Beverly Hills Matchmaker
Hold on to your hats ladies- Marla Martenson's Diary of a Beverly Hills Matchmaker is one hilariously fulfilling book! At first glance, even the image of a little-black-dress clad red head with a bundle of Cupid's arrows demanding attention on the cover of this wonderfully humorous book conveys an image of fun and gossipy-goodness. Let me just go ahead and inform you- Marla does not leave you wanting. You can thank me later. Product was received for review purposes and this post may contain affiliate links.
Throughout her Diary, Marla not only provides images of high-class individuals seeking ‘true love', but also indulges us with outrageous stories of dating disasters and the struggles of daily life for the everyday matchmaker. She includes everything from the shortcomings of what she deems to be ‘out-of-touch' men to the expectations of BEYOND high-maintenance clients, to what it's like working for a matchmaking agency in Beverly Hills, where desires and dreams run rampant and looks and money are everything. I believe Martenson deems this mind-set ‘affluenza', which is not only incredibly insightful, but fantastically perfect at the same time.
There is no way to sum up the stories that are provided in this Diary well enough to make anyone understand how necessary of a read it is. This is one of those you-really-can't-miss-this moments where you should rush to your computer and buy a copy. Oh, you don't have a computer? Then get to the local library! An internet cafe…something! Basically, what you need to know is that you can find a copy for around $15 on Marla's website.
Oh, and you might also want to know that not only is she generously giving away one copy of “Diary of a Beverly Hills Matchmaker” to a lucky individual, but she's also giving away a copy of another of her books, “Good Date, Bad Date”- which I have not read, but looks to be just as fantastic!
