Technogel Gel Pillow
As many of you know by now, I am a migraine sufferer. Which is why I am always on the hunt for products to ease the pain and prevent these vicious headaches. I didn't even know a gel pillow existed but when I came across it, I knew I just had to try it. I am sort of obsessed with the “cool side” of the pillow and am always flipping my pillow in my sleep so this whole concept just seems logical. Plus, I'm a huge fan of Dr. Scholl's gel inserts for my feet so why not for my head! Product was received for review purposes and this post may contain affiliate links.
For review, I chose the Anatomic Technogel Pillow which is great if you primarily sleep on your back or side. The curves of this pillow are absolutely perfect for supporting your neck and head comfortably and keeping everything in line. I've gone to great lengths to find support like this—I actually had my mom shove all the polyester fill of one of my old pillows to one side and sew it shut so that it wouldn't be able to flatten out anymore. But, that wasn't the answer either. The pillow became too firm and didn't allow for the proper contouring of my head. I've tried memory foam as well, but that retains heat and drives me crazy… I cannot sleep if I'm hot and the warmth from your body is absorbed by the foam so there isn't even a cool side! (Yes, I'm worse than the princess and the pea.)
I've been sleeping on my gel pillow for two weeks now and have been migraine free. It's also been some of the best sleep I've ever had—which speaks volumes because after my recent break-up, sleeping was a nightmare, literally.
The very first time I laid my head on this pillow, I knew it was perfect. It is very heavy but that prevents it from falling off the bed. And, since the gel stays cool, there is no need to flip it over, ever. The contours of this pillow fit into the nook of my neck and basically cup my head like a soft cradle. It never needs to be “fluffed” or reshaped. It is a reliable constant. Jeez, I think I've replaced men with pillows. LOL
