Brown Baggin' It Lunch Food Guide
I have a new job as of May of this year that has a MUCH longer commute – this meant (1) I had to get up earlier and (2) I couldn't go home for lunch. Over the summer I was eating out almost every day because I woke up and didn't want to think about what to bring for lunch. Eating out was costing me at least $50 a week (and that is if I went with cheap-o fast food). I was so excited to see this book – and couldn't wait to see what kind of recipes they had to try.
First, I tried her recipe for hummus – so much cheaper than buying it in a container, and I can make it taste just how I want to. Then, I tried the Hummus Salad Wrap.
Then I tried the Peanut Butter, Apple, and Granola Wrap (not much guessing what is in that!). I really liked that recipe because it was things that I already have in the house anyway – cheap and easy to make! I wouldn't have thought of putting granola on a wrap (I guess I am just stuck in a rut), but I loved it!
Each of the recipes has the nutrition information on the same page and the savings of each meal. It helps you realize time after time how much you are saving, both in calories and cost.
I love the book, and found tons of new recipes to try at home, for lunch AND dinner.
