Slow Cooker Desserts Recipes
This book has sections with puddings, cakes, bars, cobblers, and dessert casseroles. Sometimes you just don’t want to have to heat up the oven, sometimes the oven is still in use and you want to double duty in the kitchen. Now you can make dessert in the slow cooker while you are making dinner in the oven, think of the possibilities! 🙂
Each of the recipes is still similar to making something from scratch, so it is a little bit of work, but we tried the peanut butter bars and they turned out great (even with a 2 1/2 hour bake time!). With the slow cooker, the house was filled with the smell of yum for hours!
Many of the recipes require ramekins to place in the slow cooker while you boil water around them for heat, so I will be headed out to buy a few of those (hopefully I can pick some up at the resale shop!) so I can make even more things, but for now, the bars and cakes are pretty dang good! There are even a few recipes for cheesecake using a spring form pan in the slow cooker – who would have thought?! The book has tons of color photos, and is easy to navigate with a variety of categories. Hopefully you will soon be able to make yourself something great in your slow cooker!
