I am a little neurotic when it comes to the rewards I earn with my credit cards. Mike was just making fun of me the other day because of this. I have a little accordion file wallet and each credit card has a sticky note on it stating the bonus rewards that can be earned at certain stores. Well, turns out that there is now an app that can help me with this!
Maximize Credit Card Rewards with Reward Summit
Reward Summit is a free app available for iPhone and Android that can help you keep track of your credit card rewards. Signing up is easy and relatively quick. You list each one of your cards (not the numbers, just the type of card) and it uses your location to recommend which card to use. There's even a cheat sheet that pops up and suggests a card based on the spending category.
For example, we went out to dinner the other night. One of my cards has a quarterly bonus of 5x points when spent on dining purchases. Obviously, that's the card I would want to use that night. Well, with a simple tap of the Reward Summit app, I could have ditched my sticky note method and had the app tell me!
When adding my cards, there was one that wasn't listed in their system. I added it myself and within minutes I received an email from the Reward Summit team saying that they had honored my request. Now, that's some customer service!
Anything regarding credit cards can be scary these days. This app is secure and will never ask you for your account information. You just use it to keep track of your rewards, cash back, and/or miles that you earn with different credit cards.
Honestly, I never knew how many reward cards there were until using this app! If I didn't already have a ridiculous amount of them myself, I would apply for some more. 😉 Seriously, I don't know why anyone would own a credit card that DOESN'T earn you something in return. I love rewards and now it's easier to maximize them with each purchase. Just a simple tap and I am on my way to the next reward.
