I love LYSOL's Healthing movement, especially since I spent last week flattened by the flu. After being so sick and literally wallowing in my own germs, I cannot wait to jump into extensive spring cleaning. LYSOL is helping take cleaning a step further…
So, I will be totally honest: I don't clean as often as I should. Between full time school, homework, two kids, work and trying to have a tiny social life, cleaning is pretty low on my list of priorities. My house is by no means filthy, but it could definitely be more organized and needs a good dusting. However, with Spring weather finally starting to break through, I am feeling stirrings of a cleaning frenzy about to ensue. I love this feeling and plan to fully embrace it.
Referring to cleaning as healthing makes me want to actually do it and do it well. Way to go LYSOL! Such inspiration is rare and usually stems from guilt. But this makes me really want to gut my whole house and not just clean it, but health it. When we attended BlogHer12 we received full size samples of LYSOL Power & Free Multipurpose cleaner. Because so many BlogHer attendees couldn't bring this on the plane, we were able to grab a few extra–another benefit for driving! 🙂
LYSOL has a bunch of healthing tips to make sure you are getting the most out of your efforts. My favorite:
Know the difference between cleaning and disinfecting! Both are important components of the Healthing process and LYSOL® has products that can help with all related tasks. While cleaning and organizing is certainly important, killing germs on commonly touched surfaces can lower the risk of spreading bacteria and viruses between members of the family.
To help spread the word about this Healthing Initiative, LYSOL has partnered with Giuliana Rancic to visit YMCAs across the country to demonstrate Healthing in action. It is campaigns like these that I can really get behind! Healthing isn't just about spring cleaning, it is also about making sure you are effectively washing your hands and taking all possible steps to keep yourself and your family healthy.
Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for LYSOL®. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.
