I have been trying to get breakfast in more often, but most of the time, I am in too much of a hurry to even sit and eat. I was so excited to review the Big Book of Juices and Green Smoothies from “The Juice Lady” by Cherie Calbom – I love my blender, and making smoothies, I especially love that I can get so much “healthy” in them without making it taste “healthy.”
Big Book of Juices and Green Smoothies
An easy way to get more veggies into your diet is juicing (or green smoothies). There are recipes that are “healing juices” helping fight the flu, infections and aging skin! Certain smoothies and juices had ingredients that help with weight loss, work outs or body-building.
The author, Cherie Calbom has a Master of Science degree in nutrition, and is a celebrity nutritionist. She has variety of cleansing programs and juicing regimens for health. According to her website, you can feel more energy, experience glowing health, and reboot your metabolism by juicing. You can find out more about Cherie at JuiceLadyCherie.com.
When I tried a few of the smoothies in this book, they made for a whole meal. I do not have a juicer, so I had to admit, I didn’t get to try all of the recipes, and there were significantly more juicer recipes than smoothie. However, I did find quite a few smoothies to try – from chocolaty or savory to citrusy and fresh. There were SO many pictures, it made me want to try more than I could – my only complaint would be that there was such a variety of ingredients that I had to do a lot of shopping before I could make most of the recipes. I also might have to jump into juicing and will be using the Choosing a Juicer resource at Cherie’s website.
You can find The Big Book of Juices and Green Smoothies on Amazon, or find more of Cherie’s books or DVD’s at her website.
