In the town we used to live in there was this super fun gyro place, and they always had really cheap Italian ice. I am always a sucker for the stuff – so we mostly just went to get Italian ice. Now that we have moved away – either we drive a few hours for Italian ice from our fun gyro place, OR I find a much better solution. That is why I was so excited when Luigi’s reached out to me to ask that I review their Real Italian Ice.
Luigi’s Real Italian Ice
Luigi’s Real Italian ice is naturally flavored with real fruit juice. While the most popular (and well known) flavor of Italian ice is lemon, Luigi’s comes in a variety of flavors like Cherry, Strawberry, Orange (new flavor), Cotton Candy (how fun is that?!), Watermelon, and more. So far my personal favorite is Mango, but the Sour Apple flavor is growing on me! I found that if you leave them out for a few minutes before trying to eat, they are a bit softer and easier to scoop.
Luigi’s comes in serving size cups, with six cups in each pack. Most of the flavors are a 100 calorie serving, and there is even a no-sugar added selection. I love that they are gluten free and as mentioned before flavored with real fruit juice. All the flavors I tried were dairy free – so they are a great summer treat non-dairy alternative to ice cream treats. And, of course the best part is – they live in my freezer – so I don’t even have drive to our little gyro place anymore.
You can visit Luigi’s to check out their special offers and get coupons to try Luigi’s in your own home. Luigi’s is social too – check them out on Facebook and Twitter. Use their store locator to find a retailer near you that has your favorite flavors!
