The cost of baby food, formula, diapers, etc. can really add up. So, now I am on a mission to find ways to cut costs (and trash) with reusable solutions. I found a great company that makes reusable food pouches; helping me save on the cost of buying those convenient little $2 food pouches. I received a starter set of Yummi Pouches in exchange for my review.
Formula is getting rather expensive, so we are more than excited to start on solid foods to ease the pain of the formula costs, even if just a tiny bit. Some people cringe at the sight of the gooey food that babies eat, so I wanted to make sure we were giving our little guy foods that we were willing to eat ourselves. This was so much easier having decided to make our own baby food. The bag of peas goes from the steamer, to the blender, and into the Yummi Pouch. Close the zippered seal and throw the pouches in the fridge or freezer and you are good to go. The Brights with bright colors and patterns are my favorite, not that a baby cares – but I think they are super cute!
Yummi Pouches come in a variety of colors and styles. They have Mini’s (2.5 ozs) that have the spout on the top, as well as their classic and brights pouches (6oz) that have spouts on the side – making them easier for little hands to hold. Their sport packs hold the most (10oz) and are great for kids or adults on the go. All of their pouches are freezer safe and dishwasher safe, they are BPA free, PVC free and phthalate free – which makes them safe for everyone. You can buy sets of the pouches for as low as $14.99 (right now they are on sale for even less!), they are reusable and recyclable.
If you are looking into making baby food for your little ones or smoothies for yourself – make sure to check out their website for lots of recipes and ideas.
