Getting Organized with My HP Envy 15

Getting organized seems to be a constant challenge for me. Since I started blogging, the struggle is even realer than ever.

#spon: I’m required to disclose a relationship between our site and Intel This could include Intel providing us w/content, product, access or other forms of payment.

I think there was a time in my life where I might have been an organized person. Feels like a dream now.

Thankfully, technology is here to help us on our quest to get organized and stay that way.

Transitioning from my desktop computer to my HP Envy 15 laptop is a little bit challenging. This is only because I am so set in my ways.

I want to get used to working from my laptop, so I can be more flexible this summer. I mean, really, what’s the point of working from home if you are stuck in your office non-stop?

There are perks to this gig that I am not fully taking advantage of. Working from my laptop allows me to go sit in the backyard on nice days, and so much more.

In my last post about the HP Envy 15 with RealSense Technology, I showed you the impressive 3D capabilities. Aside from that, it’s also a fully-equipped laptop that’s perfect for me as a blogger. More about RealSense: https://appshowcase.intel.com/en-us/realsense

Getting Organized with My New Laptop

Here are three challenges that I have faced so far, which were easily fixed with apps. Just these three simple downloads have helped with getting organized and increasing productivity.

1.) Problem: The image I want to use for a post is on my desktop.

Solution: Use Dropbox. Apparently, I am extremely late to the party on this one. Everyone uses Dropbox to easily have access to images and files on several devices. I can now just plop all my pictures into Dropbox and have access to them on my laptop.

2.) Problem: Distractions are killing my productivity. I will be working on a blog post mid-sen {look a Facebook notification!} tence and have my attention pulled away numerous times before the post is complete. This is destroying my productive time. This is why I sit here for fourteen hours and only get one post done. I must change this in order to enjoy this summer.

Solution: Free Timer app. My HP Envy 15 now has the Free Timer app downloaded. This method is quite popular amongst bloggers, and it does still require discipline. You set the timer for a fixed amount of time. Try to do tasks within these time slots. JUST those tasks until the timer dings. So, if I know I have about 15 minutes of picture editing. I will set the timer for 15 minutes and ONLY edit pics until I hear that ding.

3.) Problem: My desk has all my lists of things to do on it. I can’t lug all those papers around with my laptop.

Solution: Great Task 3 app. I know there are so many productivity apps out there, but this one seems to be just what I need. It syncs with your Google calendar, and it’s easy to create tasks and sub-tasks. You can set reminders and due dates. Definitely helpful to me when I don’t have my pile of paper lists (that aren’t all that efficient, anyway!).
