There are many reasons why a person would like to take a seat in the shower. Butt Bench can make that happen in a safe, easy and attractive way! Product was received for review purposes.
The Butt Bench is a sturdy bathtub seat that is made from high quality, natural wood materials, and can hold up to 300 pounds. It can be used as a seat or a storage ledge. There are several different colors and wood types to choose from, making it easy to find a match for any bathroom decor. As long as all safety precautions are followed, the Butt Bench is an excellent option for seniors, or anyone who likes to relax in the shower!
Butt Bench – the safe way to sit in the shower
We received the 15″ cedar bench and it’s beautiful. Cedar is a fine type of wood and a little more pricey, but there are three, more affordable pine options to choose from, as well. The Butt Bench fit onto our bathtub ledge perfectly, as it is expected to in most tubs — as long as they are not over 60 years old! It also will not work if you have shower doors.
Installation was a breeze. The suction cups slide along the Butt Bench so you can avoid the grout lines in your tile. The suction cups need to be flush with the tile in order to stick securely. We are having an issue with this due to our textured tile. They still stick, but we have to keep an eye on them. They tend to pop off since there are so many grooves in our tile.
At first I had no clue what to do with the shower curtain, but then figured out it can be easily tucked under the bench. This is why you cannot have shower doors, though… they would not be able to close. (Please ignore that horrid cabinet – it’s going SOON!)
Personally, I love having the Butt Bench. It’s easier to shave my legs, or just sit and relax a bit. I rarely have the time or desire to commit to a bath, so this is a great option to just grab a few extra minutes of relaxation. Mike happened to get a nasty cold right after the bench arrived. He turned the shower into a steam room and sat on the bench for about an hour. He was so thrilled to have it!
Aside from the bench being a great bathtub seat, it also makes a fabulous storage ledge! This was a huge issue with us. Mike was always confused and irritated by how many toiletries that I consider necessities in the tub. Now it’s not a problem. They all sit nicely and appear more organized on the Butt Bench!
All warnings should be taken very seriously with this Butt Bench! We do not have any children to worry about, but I would highly recommend completely removing the bench when not in use if you do. It can be extremely dangerous. I would also be extra cautious with the elderly – although this is great for them – make sure the suction cups are sticking securely. When all safety suggestions are followed, the Butt Bench can be a fabulous addition to your bathroom!
