I am a Souper Blogger and I received a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Wives to review. Chicken Soup for the Soul books are usually a fun read – something uplifting or meaningful – but this newest one was especially touching. It helped remind me how important my job as a wife is, and encouraged me to try to find ways to be better at it.
Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Wives
The hubby and I are nearing our fifth anniversary. We were married young and have done most of our “grown-up” life so far together. We have been through a lot of life changes – graduating college (seriously – he was on the 7-year plan), buying a home, finding jobs, finding new jobs, deciding on having children, taking a leap into our adoption journey and so many more “smaller” decisions along the way. But sometimes I forget I am a wife, and that is a job itself. I’m not saying it is a ton of work (sometimes it is!), but it is something I have to remain intentional about.
Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Wives has stories that are affirming in their strength and encouraging in how to get through trials and tests of faith. As far as Chicken Soup books go – it was a little more spiritual than others have been – with prayers and scripture reading. Overall, it was beautiful to read through stories about the ups and downs of daily life and marriage.
You can find Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Wives and other Chicken Soup for the Soul books on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble.
