Disney's Tomorrowland is coming, and I'm pretty excited about it. It's the story of Frank, a jaded former boy-genius and Casey, a teenage girl with a thirst for knowledge who must work together to discover the secrets behind Tomorrowland, a more than mysterious place which exists somewhere outside of normal time and space.
Disney's Tomorrowland – The Future is Now
I think this is going to be a great flick. It's got everything I love in a movie. Action, adventure, mystery, futuristic future stuff – it's all there. The cast is pretty impressive too. You've got George Clooney as Frank, Britt Robertson as Casey, and Hugh Lauris as David Nix. In addition to these powerhouse actors, the film also features Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn, Raffey Cassidy, Keegan-Michael Kay, and Thomas Robins.
Aside from having an all-star cast, Disney's Tomorrowland has a solid story that I'm sure will captivate us all. I mean, come on, it was co-written by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof, as well as the equally talented Brad Bird.
From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s “Tomorrowland,” a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.
Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland” promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.
The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.
“Tomorrowland” is produced by Damon Lindelof, Brad Bird and Jeffrey Chernov and directed by Brad Bird, with John Walker, Bernard Bellew, Jeff Jensen and Brigham Taylor serving as executive producers. “Tomorrowland” opens in U.S. theaters on May 22, 2015.
See the Future Through the Lens of Disney's Tomorrowland
In honor of the impending release of Disney's Tomorrowland, Disney has released a featurette exploring the world of Tomorrowland and their vision of the future. It's an interesting look into the backdrop of the story, and I think you'll enjoy it.
Disney's Tomorrowland brings the future to theaters everywhere on May 22nd. This mystery adventure thrill ride looks like a blast to me. I'll definitely be there, because the only thing better than a big budget sci-fi bonanza is a big budget sci-fi bonanza from Disney.
