DIY Sugar Lip Scrub – Pina Colada Scrub Recipe
DIY sugar lip scrub is the way to go when it comes to exfoliating your lips. It’s so easy to make your own lip scrub that there’s no need to purchase one at the store. Make some for yourself and give some away as gifts. Just try not to eat it since it smells so darn good. This post contains affiliate links.
My lips were so severely chapped this winter I wasn’t sure if they would fully recover. It was quite gross, actually. A new nervous tick of mine is gnawing on my lip. This is just awesome when I am trying to be professional, and there’s blood literally dripping from my lip. Gah. Thankfully, it’s warmer now, and I can slough off those loose pieces of lip flesh {shudder}.
Regardless of your current lip condition, exfoliating them feels amazing. The pina colada scent helps get you ready for summer. It smells like a tropical vacation and makes me excited for beach weather.
DIY Sugar Lip Scrub – Pina Colada Sugar Scrub Recipe
This yields enough pina colada lip scrub to fill two small lip balm containers:
INGREDIENTS
- 3 Tablespoons coconut oil
- 3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon coconut extract
- 1/8 teaspoon pineapple flavoring
- 2 drops Vitamin E oil
- Optional: 1-2 drops yellow food coloring
DIRECTIONS
- In a small bowl, mix the coconut oil and sugar until well blended.
- Add the coconut extract and the pineapple flavoring. (I found the pineapple flavoring at a craft store and it is five times stronger than extract so you don’t need as much. If you have pineapple extract, use 1/4 teaspoon). Stir until well incorporated.
- Add the vitamin e drops and the yellow food coloring (optional) and stir well again.
- Transfer to small lip balm containers and store up to 3 months.
HOW TO USE
- Wet lips with warm water and generously apply lip scrub.
- Gently massage in a circular motion to allow the sugar granules to exfoliate and the coconut oil to moisturize.
- Rinse with warm water.
- Apply your favorite lip balm.

Yum! this looks great!
This is a great idea and simple to achieve. I would probably ended up licking all of the lip scrub off of my lips though, lol.
