Even as an adult, I love PLAY-DOH. Tip: it is fun to play with to relive stress. When I was little, I was a professional at making snow men (it’s three different sized ball shaped pieces stacked on top of each other, not too hard, you could try it out for yourself). Recently, Silver Dolphin Books took PLAY-DOH to a whole new level with educational books. After receiving a variety of their books for review, I was excited to try them out for myself – but I think we really should find some kids to share them with.
PLAY-DOH Book Series
These books from Silver Dolphin Books combine PLAY-DOH with early learning concepts, encouraging children to make shapes, letters, numbers, etc out of the PLAY-DOH. The books are large board-books, so the pages are soft to stick PLAY-DOH to for it to be easily cleaned off.
I received three of the series of books. The first, Christmas Craft Fun, a boxed set which has a 32 page activity book, an original Christmas story, 4 cans of PLAY-DOH, and 15 holiday projects (including a much more detailed snow man, I had a thing or two to learn from them!). The other two are Let’s Create: Letters and Let’s Create: Shapes. Each of these books has a storyline to them, and feature activities on each of the pages for your child to interact with the story as they go along. While the activities and learning level seem to be pre-school, it would be a story to be read along with an adult or sibling at a higher reading level. PLAY-DOH makes the learning part fun and helps keep your little one’s attention as you work through each page.
