Cold and flu season is upon us! As a new mom, I will admit I am a bit overzealous when it comes to checking my son’s every bump, bruise, cough and hiccup. Exergen TemporalScanner makes it super easy for me to take his temperature. I received a thermometer in exchange for my review, but all opinions are my own.
Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner Thermometer
When it comes to taking my baby’s temperature, there are a couple options: the old school thermometer that goes somewhere uncomfortable, some middle ground thermometers like those that go in the ear, and the TemporalScanner. If you think about it for about two seconds, you will decide the latter is the much better option. It makes it so much easier to take the temp of a wiggly baby and means that I don’t have to wake him up in the middle of the night to check his temp either. The thermometer works by taking the temperature from the temporal artery with infrared technology. It’s one of the most reliable ways to take a sick child’s temperature.
The Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner has been updated with some great features. First, an illuminated display (so you can do this all in the dark). A beeping sound to indicate scanning can now be turned off or on, so you can do it quietly for a sleeping baby. I love that it automatically retains the last eight temperature readings – just in case I lose track in the middle of the night.
You can find the Exergen TemporalScanner at just about any retailer near you, including Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, and Babies’R’Us. You can see it in use and find more information about the new features in the TemporalScanner of the Exergen website.
