Let’s ban together to fight toxins with Seventh Generation. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central for Seventh Generation. I received a promotional item and product samples as a thank you for participating. All opinions are my own.
Toxic chemicals are all around us and more than 80,000 of them have never been fully tested for their effects on our health and the environment. We need chemical reform! Scientists have even linked exposure to toxic chemicals to health risks like, cancer, Alzheimer’s, learning disabilities, birth defects, asthma, and several reproductive problems.
The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) was passed in 1976 and has never been updated. Tens of thousands of potentially harmful chemicals have been used in the marketplace since the 1970’s without the proper testing and without disclosure from the companies that make them. I had know idea about this issue and it just floors me. To think that my cabinets could possibly hold items that could harm our family makes me extremely concerned. I mean, I know some chemicals can be dangerous, but I had know clue they weren’t even being thoroughly tested! It’s time to speak up!
