As the weather warms, seasonal congestion just comes with the territory. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Zarbee’s Naturals. I received a promotional item and a product sample as a thank you for participating.

Seasonal congestion is no stranger around here. Mike and I both have already been sneezing quite a bit. It’s not ideal to walk around drowsy all the time, so we try to take as many natural routes as possible to help alleviate this.

8 Tips for Fighting Seasonal Congestion

8 Tips for Fighting Seasonal Congestion

  1. Don’t sleep with the fan on. If it’s warm at night you might be tempted to blast a fan. In my experience, this only makes my congestion worse.
  2. Drink lots of water. Being properly hydrated can keep your mucous {shudder} levels under control. It helps to flush toxins out of your system and thins out gross phlegm and snots.
  3. Limit the dairy. The opposite of water, dairy can actually add to the thickness of everything that causes congestion.
  4. Go easy on the booze. This is another beverage that can dehydrate you.
  5. Eat lots of fruit. Boost your immune system and add to hydration by increasing your fruit intake.
  6. Exercise. As tough as it might be, get that lymphatic system moving!
  7. Flush your sinuses using a Neti pot. This will take some getting used to, but it definitely works. It not only helps clear your sinuses, but can also wash the irritants from your sinus cavities.
  8. Use Zarbee’s Naturals’ Seasonal Relief with Butterbur. Butterbur is now available in the US. Popular in Europe, Ze339 is a pure extract of butterbur derived from the leaves of the butterbur plant.

Having tried Zarbee’s Cough Syrup before, I was extra excited about this product. I love that they use natural ingredients that actually work. Zarbee’s Naturals’ Seasonal Relief is safe for routine use without the worry of developing an intolerance. The PA-safe formula doesn’t have the common side effects like drowsiness, grogginess, or cotton mouth. It’s promised to work fast to help anyone over 12 years old breathe easier.

Zarbee’s Naturals’ Seasonal Relief is available over the counter at CVS and Target and is intended for children 12 years of age and over.

My allergies are bad right now. They cause me to swell also. However I can not bring myself to use a Netti Pot. It freaks me out. I always sleep with a fan on, thanks for the tip. I’m going to turn it off tonight and see if that helps. I just get hot easily. I have been drinking water non-stop though.
