Green Stone of Healing Series
The Green Stone of Healing series, by C.L. Talmadge, is a wonderful series for anyone who wants to ‘disappear’ to another world. In a uniquely intriguing set of novels, Talmadge creates a world called Azgard in which adventure, romance, and the powers of a mysterious green jewel promise to sweep you away. In a four book saga, the history and current events of Azgard are depicted, through which you learn of the stories of four generations of women who work to fight against the over-arching religious and state authority by employing the multi-dimensional power of a green gen they inherited. By using the gen to mend broken hearts and protect those they love, the women provide an alternative to the lifestyle enforced onto so many they know.
What is so interesting is the way in which Talmadge has managed to create such a wonderfully intricate world unlike any I’ve seen before. When reading the books, you cannot help but allow yourself to be whisked away, and often find yourself connecting to the characters in ways you wouldn’t think possible. As an added bonus, Talmadge even provides a family tree and a glossary of characters at the back of each book to aid you in remaining completely emerged in the fantastic stories without confusion.
I believe ultimately, the format of the books are what drew me in so tightly. The chapters are kept short, yet full of action, and are honestly captivating. The style of the books themselves keep you wanting more and more- a gripping and utterly fantastic series that allows you- really demands of you- to use your imagination while you follow the characters through the encounters and experiences they are dealt.
I must say, I enjoyed these books. I was given the opportunity to read the first three, but I cannot imagine that the fourth book of the series could be any less interesting! You can find this series in both eBook and print copy formats for around $9-$17 on C.L. Talmadge’s website.
