I gave up on having nice bronzed skin a long time ago. After more than a few sleepless nights suffering with lobster-red skin, I learned that my skin does not tan naturally – if I want a nice bronze glow, it’s going to have to come from a bottle. I have tried a variety of products from a variety of drugstores, and usually my skin turns out darker, but streakier (is that even a word?). That’s why I was so happy to receive and review Vita Liberata – they even call themselves the “Cadillac of Self-Tanners.”
A completely non-toxic and organic tanning brand, Vita Liberata claims it has no odor. It has a ready-to-wear bronze finish and the tan develops evenly. The tan is supposed to last up to two weeks. The product comes in either a mousse or a lotion – which makes it nice to work with so you can choose which is easiest for you to handle.
I have used lotions, sprays, mousse, and more to try to get a bronze glow. In trying the Vita Liberata lotion and mousse, it felt easier to spread the lotion, but the mousse, of course, felt so much lighter going on. For some reason, the bronzing agent in them have different tints – the lotion seems to be a bit more orange and the foam has a bit more green tone to it – so if you have a different color of skin than mine, keep that in mind! It did have a smell to it when putting it on – but it went away after a while and didn’t linger on my skin. Both products created a great tan – and I am hoping the tan lasts quite a long time. I liked that they had an immediate bronze tone to them so I could tell I was getting it on without orange spots later, and when it developed, it looked very smooth. (Side note: I tried to do before and after pictures for you, but the lighting just wasn’t right to show a huge difference – but I promise I am tanner!)
You can buy Vita Liberata from Sephora – it’s like summer in a bottle!
