Many of you know by now that I was raised by my Grandparents. My Grandfather is a huge advocate of natural healing and the power of positive thinking. Early on he taught me his beliefs and thankfully, it all stuck. Although I struggle with myself a lot, the basic belief foundation is still intact.
We all have that day where as soon as you get out of bed things just suck. You stub your toe, burn your toast, and watch the rest of the day unravel. Well, a lot of us have the bad habit of just assuming “Oh, it’s going to be a horrible day” from the minute the first thing goes wrong. If you could just take a minute and readjust your thinking, you can possibly prevent this. Shifting into a positive mood makes you handle everything differently. People around you also feed off of your mood. Maybe your boss is being a jerk because he’s reacting to your negative energy. I am not saying nothing will go wrong, but being positive allows you to brush it off and move on more quickly.
“Do as I say, not as I do”…. because I am not very good at this! Lately I do let every little thing get to me and have a very hard time shaking it off. But, I am working on it. Actually, this book came at the perfect time for me. I needed the amazing stories in this book to remind me of my own beliefs.
Here are a few topics to look forward to in Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Power of Positive:
- the power of liking yourself and stop being your own worst enemy (I can so relate)
- the power of gratitude and counting blessings
- the power of dreaming and believing in yourself
- the power of attitude adjustments, from changing your words to changing your behavior
- and much more.
This book can be life-changing if you read it, let it sink in, and start practicing being positive.
