Having horrible acne has plagued me since my teenage years. It’s common in your teens, but mine has stayed with me. Looking at my family history it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere – ever! I have used some pretty harsh treatments over the years. Some of the bottles actually say “do not use during pregnancy or if you plan to become pregnant”. For the longest time that was not a concern for me at all. Now that I am married I need to think about labels like that. I won’t say that we are actually trying to conceive, but let’s just say that we aren’t trying not to. So, I am playing it safe just in case. I am watching labels and warnings that I normally don’t think twice about. Knowing that there is even the slimmest chance that I could be pregnant has me on high alert!
When I was approached with the opportunity to try Belli Skin Care, I jumped at the chance. Belli is physician formulated for pregnant women. I think it’s easy to forget that what you put on your skin is absorbed into your blood stream and can affect you and your baby. Several of the common ingredients found in skincare products have links to birth defects and even miscarriages according to medical research. Yikes! That’s why I am not taking any chances!
Belli has the highest safety standards:
- Free of all teratogens – chemicals, synthetic or natural, linked to birth defects or miscarriage in published medical research.
- Free of parabens, BPA, phthalates, and artifical dyes or fragrances.
- Allergy tested.
The fact that this is made specifically for pregnant women with acne takes the guesswork out of everything. I love that! I don’t have to study every ingredient to know if it’s safe. The happy picture of the pregnant woman on the box makes it clear that it is!
I received the Belli Complexion Protection Duo which consist of the acne cleansing facial wash and the anti-chloasma facial sunscreen SPF 25. The wash is great. Extremely refreshing and thoroughly cleansing without overdrying or irritating. Although my skin is used to the strong stuff, it still responded well to this, too. I think my skin actually appreciated the less harsh chemicals. I loved the way it felt after using this.
Also included was the sunscreen. Even though it’s winter, this is still important! I need to keep reminding myself of that! Belli’s is tinted and glides on nice and light. Perfect for daily use.
There are two other products that I got to try that are not in this kit. I highly recommend adding them to your routine should you decide to try Belli Skin Care. The Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator is a lightweight moisturizer that provides a nice dose of Vitamin C to the skin while leaving it refined and soft. Feels soothing and fresh on the face.
And last, but definitely not least – the Eye Brightening Cream which revives tired eyes. I can imagine that pregnant women would really appreciate this product! My eyes always look tired no matter what, so I was extra pumped to try this. It contains Vitamin K, Vitamin PP and Marine Derived Proteins to make a safe, pampering treat!
Even though I am not yet pregnant, I am glad to know that I like these products. I plan to continue using them with or without a baby on board!
