As a person who has been quite obsessed with the numbers on the scale my whole life, I can totally understand why The Zero Scale was created. There can be nothing more frustrating than seeing that number every morning. Sure it might be lower, but your “ultimate goal” number might seem light years away. The Zero Scale does not give you your total weight. It tells the amount of pounds you have either lost or gained. This truly does help with the mental struggles that come along with dieting. You don’t have to get hung up on your total weight and it’s easier to celebrate the smaller achievements. It can also help keep you in check if you are just trying to maintain your weight. Once you start seeing pluses on the scale, you know it’s time to hit the gym more!
Let’s say you want to be 105 lbs and you are 125 lbs. (I am just throwing numbers out there.) Seeing 122 on the scale might make you think that you still have a long way to go. But seeing -3 lbs can be much more rewarding! Dieting for me is a huge mind trick anyway, so this is just one more. This scale really does make the weight loss journey a lot less tedious.
The scale showed up at a great time for me. Ever since I said “I do” in June I thought it would be a great idea to pack on 15 pounds. Well, now I am not so thrilled with myself! It’s winter and the last time I would ever want to be on a diet. It’s time for PJs, comfy clothes and warm fattening food, not workout time! BUT, do I want to fit into my clothes – yes. So, I must watch it.
I also received a pedometer along with my scale. This is a neat fitness tool, too. I like to challenge myself to take a certain amount of steps per day. This alone is a huge help. It makes me a lot more aware of how active I am during the day.
