Cookie Dough  Bark Candy

Ingredients – Butter – Light brown sugar – Sugar – Vanilla extract – Heat-treated all-purpose flour  – Salt – Semi sweet mini chocolate chips – Semi sweet baker’s chocolate

IMPORTANT Heat treat your flour by heating it in the microwave or oven until it is 175 degrees F. 

Beat the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla together in a bowl.

Add in the heat-treated flour and salt and beat just until mixed.  Stir in the mini chocolate chips.

Press the cookie dough into the lined baking sheet.  Leave about 1/3 cup for the topping. Freeze for 5 minutes.

Melt the chocolate by heating it in the microwave for one minute on high.  Remove and stir well.  Continue to heat in 30-second intervals until the chocolate is fully melted.

Use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly over the chilled cookie dough.  Immediately sprinkle the top with the leftover cookie dough.

Press the cookie dough topping in quickly.  The chocolate will harden fast on the cold dough.

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Remove the candy from the fridge and use a sharp knife to cut the bark into pieces.
