Instructions
Soup
Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a dutch oven.
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Add the onion to the oil and sauté until tender and transparent.

Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the butternut squash and chicken broth. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until the squash is tender.

Allow the soup to cool a bit before adding to a blender or food processor to purée.
Return the puréed soup to the pan and heat. Add the cream cheese, salt, and pepper and stir until combined.

Pasta
Prepare the pasta according to the instructions on the box.
1 cup bowtie pasta
Rinse the pasta under water to cool. Then place it in a large ziplock bag.

Add black food coloring to the bag and swish the pasta around until it's fully coated.

Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Place the dyed pasta in a strainer and rinse until the water runs clear.
Create eyes on the pasta with the leftover cream cheese and peppercorns or pieces of the pasta for pupils.
Serve the pasta bats on top of the soup.
