Instructions
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed.
1 cup butter,
1 cup sugar
Add the eggs, vanilla, and salt and continue blending until thoroughly combined.
2 large egg,
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract,
½ tsp salt
Slowly add the flour, mixing just until combined.
3 ½ cups flour
Cover the dough and place in the refrigerator for one hour.
While the dough is chilling, preheat the oven to 350℉ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Remove dough from the refrigerator and roll out onto a floured surface about a half of an inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
Place shapes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are set.
Meanwhile, prepare the icing by combining the confectioners sugar, milk, and corn syrup in a small bowl. Add more or less milk to adjust consistency.
3 cups confectioners sugar,
5 tbsp milk,
5 tbsp corn syrup
Squeeze a small amount of food coloring into the icing and use a toothpick to drag the color across the surface.
Gel food coloring
Dip each cookie into the icing, allowing excess to drip off. Place on a plate or cooling rack and allow the icing to set. About one hour.
