Instructions
Soak the dates in water for about 15 minutes.

Place hazelnuts on a baking pan in a single layer and roast them for 10 minutes at 350℉.

Allow hazelnuts to cool. Set aside 12 whole hazelnuts for centers. Chop additional hazelnuts for chocolate mixture.
Add soaked dates (with the water), almond meal, protein powder, chia seeds, remaining hazelnuts, and cacao powder into a food processor. Mix well.

1 tbsp vanilla whey protein powder,
1 tbsp chia seeds,
1 tbsp cacao powder,
¼ cup water
Use a cookie scoop to make balls from the mixture. Press one whole hazelnut into the center of each ball.
Melt the chocolate in a pan. Mix in the coconut and the chopped up hazelnuts.
½ cup chocolate chips,
¼ cup shredded coconut
Dip each ball into the melted chocolate and coat well. Place them onto parchment paper to cool.
Place the balls into the refrigerator to set and cool.
Store the date balls in the refrigerator or the freezer for an icy treat.
