In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and chocolate chips together, stirring occasionally.
½ cup butter, 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Once the chocolate and butter are fully melted, add in the brown sugar and granulated sugar. Whisk the ingredients until they are fully combined.
½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup sugar
Crack the eggs into the chocolate mixture, one at a time, whisking after each addition until they are fully incorporated.
3 large egg
Pour in the coffee, flour, and salt. Whisk until the batter is smooth and well combined.
2 tbsp coffee, ¾ cup flour
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 25-27 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the brownies cool to room temperature.
To make the frosting, repeat the process from step 2 to melt the chocolate and butter together in a small saucepan.
¼ cup dark chocolate chips, 4 tbsp butter
Transfer the melted chocolate mixture to a medium mixing bowl.
Add in the coffee, 1 tablespoon of milk, powdered sugar, and a pinch of sea salt. Beat the ingredients together with a hand mixer until they are fully combined. If the frosting is too thick, add in an additional 1-2 tablespoons of milk until you reach your desired consistency.
¼ tsp sea salt, 2 tbsp coffee, 3 tbsp milk, 2 cup powdered sugar, Pinch of sea salt
Once the brownies are completely cooled, lift them out of the pan by the parchment paper and place them on a flat surface. Spread the frosting over the top of the brownies in an even layer.
Slice the brownies and enjoy!
