I decided to play around with ingredients to create a more “adult” grilled cheese sandwich. Using bacon, Aged White Cheddar, and Asiago, I quickly made an incredibly flavorful lunch.

Melted butter and bread

To make a grilled cheese sandwich even tastier, I like to spread a butter and cheese mixture on the bread. I melt butter and add some parmesan cheese and mix it together.

Butter on bread and a slice of cheese

Using a basting brush, I evenly coat the bread on one side. Layer slices of cheese and cooked bacon on the bread. Top with the other piece of bread with the butter side up. Heat up a griddle and place the butter side down.

Asiago cheese on bread and in package

With the butter mixture on the bread, it browns a lot more quickly, so keep an eye on it. I tend to flip the sandwich a few times to evenly melt the inside of the sandwich without burning the outside.
