Bissell Steam Mop

I was raised to never mop. Only to get down on my hands and knees and scrub that floor. And then… I grew up.
The reality of this happening often enough does not make an ideal situation for a clean house. With two shedding dogs, we need daily sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping if we want to keep that “dog smell” out of our home.
This steam mop allows us to save time by vacuuming debris and steaming hard floors at the same time.

This is my first time owning a multi purpose steam cleaner and I wasn’t too sure how I would feel about it. Turns out, I LOVE IT.
I don’t find it to be heavy at all. It’s a nice size and not awkward to store. Putting it together and figuring out how to use it was pretty simple, too.
It cuts down on the products needed. No need to lug out a bucket and mop after vacuuming. It’s all-in-one.

Mine came with a few different mop pads, one was already on the vacuum itself. The pads are machine washable, so I should be set for a while. They are quite easy to remove and replace on the unit, too.

The instructions are conveniently located right on the side of the vacuum. This is great so you don’t have to keep referring back to the manual.
And would you look at that…. there’s already dog fur on the actual vacuum! {shaking my head}

Filling the water tank for the steamer is a breeze. Just fill up the water cup and pour into the side chamber. It’s suggested to only use water.
I had wondered about using a floor cleaner, but that is highly discouraged to maintain the safety of the machine. It’s also not necessary since the steam itself sanitizes, using just water to eliminate 99.9% of germs and bacteria.

You can choose to just vacuum, or vacuum and steam on high or low. There are three buttons to use and it only takes 30-60 seconds to get the “hi” steam ready to go.

I tested out a gross section of our kitchen floor using the vacuum and steam on the high setting. I purposely only passed it over two times to see how well it works. I think it did a fine job!

I got a kick out of the neat little ball it rolled the fur into! Upon emptying the dirt chamber, this neat little package flopped out. As you can see, it’s dry. The steam does not affect what the vacuum sucks up.
The Bissell Symphony Steam Mop works excellently for our floors. We have mostly tile and hardwood and it’s ideal for both.

My dog sheds like a beast (the breeder when we got him as a puppy claimed he was a "non-shedding breed" HA!)! There are little tufts of his hair all over the house-my mom likes to joke that we can build an army of dogs with all the hair he sheds. LOL
This would be PERFECT for our house. Especially the kitchen floor that, I admit, is nasty!!

I love using a steamer on floors; I feel like it really gets rid of germs and allergens. Ours is a few years old and probably needs to be replaced before long. This is going on my short list for a replacement.
