Best Tuna Salad Sandwich Recipe
With the kids home for the summer, cold sandwiches become a form of art.
We also have the best tuna salad sandwich recipe that is pretty classic and never gets old.
We headed to Meijer to stock up on ingredients because with two growing teens in the house it seems we’re always running out of something.
As an mperks member, we also saved money on this trip.

Tuna Salad Sandwich Recipe
When I was little, I watched Big Top Peewee, and in that gem of a movie his girlfriend makes him a sandwich–egg salad, if I remember correctly–and carefully wraps it in wax paper.
Don’t ask me why this is such a vivid, lasting memory, but ever since then, sandwich making has been a labor of love.
It must’ve been the effort she put in and the pride behind her sack lunch because the fate of that meal wasn’t great. I think it ended up washing down a river.
Whatever the reason behind my extra weird psyche, I freaking love building the best tuna salad sandwich.
I’ve perfected this recipe to my liking over the years, and I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

Nutrition
This tuna salad sandwich recipe can be easily tweaked to your liking.
You can decrease the calories by using a veggie wrap, tortilla, or large leaf of lettuce; use less mayonnaise, and one slice of Sargento® Slices: Ultra Thin® Provolone cheese instead of three.
I love using 100% real, natural cheese and these Ultra Thin® Slices allow you to control the amount to your preference.

Shopping at Meijer is always a wonderful experience.
They have an excellent selection of everything I need and the layout of the store is so spacious it never feels crowded.
I cannot stress the importance of this–grocery shopping can cause a decent bit of anxiety.
I’m always worried I’ll forget something on my list–or heaven forbid, forget my list itself–get stuck in long lines or have to wait behind slower shoppers in crowded aisles.
At Meijer, I’m always able to whip around and get everything like a ninja which provides priceless peace of mind.

That is a delicious looking lunch. I never thought about adding cucumber slices and carrot but we do love Sargento on tuna!
I do enjoy a tuna salad sandwich. This recipe looks tasty and I know we would like to have it!
OK, from now on my tuna salad sandwiches with have cucumber slices.
I’ve only had american cheese on a tuna melt. The provolone sounds like a nice addition to the tuna sandwich. Will have to give it a try.
I loe a good tuna fish sandwich. I have had various vegetables in them but I dont think carrots. I love the provolone too, its a great cheese with a nice smoky flavor (to me at least) Now I dont know if it is a regional thing or what, but I have never made mine with mayo. I am strictly a Miracle Whip gal. I know hubby has always had his with MW, and everyone else I know. One of the freaky things I guess, but it adds a ‘twang’ that mayo doesnt maybe who knows.
My tuna sandwiches were never this complicated. The cheese and cucumber should make the sandwich taste extra special
I never thought garlic in a tuna would be an ingredient? but I will try it.
Your recipe sure is a departure from the plain jane tuna sandwiches I usually make. It’s appealing and I will definitely try it.
Like how you added the cucumber and tomatoes for different flavor and texture! 🙂

I have never seen such a fancy tuna salad sandwich in my life! I have to give this a try. My mouth is watering just reading about it.
That looks like a yummy tuna sandwich! I love mine toasted with cheese, chopped up avocado, and red onions. Then I lightly drizzle homemade ranch dressing and a chipotle dressing.
This sandwich looks delicious! I love Sargento cheese and their provolone is my favorite 🙂
My husband works close enough that he can come home for lunch. It’s a nice part of our summer to be able to spend a little extra time with him. Your tuna salad sandwich would be a great one to share during his stops at home during the week.
My daughter loves tuna fish, I am trying this one for sure
Every time I eat tuna sandwiches I have to top it with potato chips.
