Mermaid Lemonade Icy Drinks
Whether you’re throwing a mermaid party or sipping poolside, this mermaid drink is a magical treat.
I think many people will agree with me that icy drinks or slushes are the quickest way to make any drink better.
As a kid, Slurpees were a gigantic part of my life.
I have happy memories of my Gram taking me to 7-Eleven for the icy deliciousness probably way too often.
Around the same time of my life, I also truly believed that I was a mermaid.
I would swim in my dad’s pool as if I had one fin instead of two legs, I’d sprinkle salt on my legs in the bathtub, and my sister and I would perfect our Ariel hair flip as often as possible.
As an adult, I’ve slowed down on most of that behavior but still prefer icy blended drinks.
It’s not often that I drink a sugary beverage, but when I do, the icier the better.

Mermaid Drink Directions
Make lemonade however you like.
This recipe uses Kool-Aid lemonade mix.
Feel free to use another brand, a store brand, or even fresh squeeze your own.
You will need about 3/4 cup of lemonade per two cups of ice, per color.
That amount will give you enough to layer two glasses as shown in this post.
Adjust if you’d like to add more colors or fill more glasses.
To get the green color, use neon green and regular green food coloring.
For the blue layer use neon blue.
To get the purple shade use neon purple and one drop of regular blue.
Add lemonade to a measuring cup to color and stir well before adding to the blender.
Add two cups of ice to your blend and pour in 3/4 cup of colored lemonade.
Blend into a slushy.
Spoon the icy mixture into the glass, filling it about 1/3 of the way.
Repeat for each color layering into the glass in the color order you wish.
Serve immediately as the ice melts quickly.
Of course, the over 21 crowd can add a little something something to these drinks to make them a cocktail. Just drink responsibly!
