Valentine cookies are fun to make regardless of your relationship status. Whether you’re baking with the kids, for a sweetie, or treating yourself, it’s a blast to get creative with the shapes and colors of the holiday.

Marble Iced Valentine’s Cookies Ingredients

(Measurements are in the recipe card below.)

For the sugar cookies:

  • Unsalted butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • Salt
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour

For the icing:

  • Confectioners sugar
  • Milk
  • Corn syrup
  • Gel food coloring

Heart Sugar Cookies Directions

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed.

Add the eggs, vanilla, and salt and continue to blend until thoroughly combined.

Slowly add in the flour, mixing just until combined.

Cover the dough and place it into the refrigerator for one hour.

While the dough is chilling, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out onto a floured surface.

You want the dough to be about a half of an inch thick.

Use your cookie cutters to create desired shapes.

Place the shapes onto your prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are set.

Meanwhile, prepare the icing by combining the confectioners sugar, milk, and corn syrup in a small bowl.

Add more or less milk to adjust the consistency.

Squeeze a small amount of food coloring into the icing and use a toothpick to drag the color across the surface.

How much milk should I use in the icing?
