Immediately, I started craving warm and cozy food. It’s time to trade in my summer smoothies for warm and filling baked oatmeal with apples. If there’s time to sit down for breakfast, give this apple quinoa breakfast bowl a try.

This recipe is easy to make gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan.

Apple Spice Baked Oatmeal Ingredients

Here’s what you need to make this baked oatmeal recipe. The measurements are in the recipe card below.

  • Rolled old-fashioned oats: Use certified gluten-free if making this a GF recipe.
  • Cinnamon
  • Allspice
  • Nutmeg
  • Baking powder
  • Sea salt
  • Milk: Use your choice of dairy-free milk if making this a dairy-free recipe.
  • Unsweetened applesauce: If you need to use sweetened applesauce, adjust the maple syrup.
  • Maple syrup
  • Vanilla extract
  • Apple: Diced and peeled.
  • Pecans: Chopped.

Baked Oatmeal with Apples Directions

Step One:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and grease an 8×8″ baking dish.

Add oats, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, baking powder, salt, milk, applesauce, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and 3/4 cup of the diced apples to a large mixing bowl.

Place the mixture into your prepared baking dish.

How can I make this oatmeal recipe sweeter?

This is not an overly sweet recipe. If you’d like to make it sweeter, you can increase the maple syrup in the recipe to 1/3 cup. Another option is to drizzle more maple syrup on top of the oatmeal when you serve it warm.

  • 2 cup rolled oats certified gluten-free if necessary
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • tsp allspice
  • tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt

  • Set your oven to 375℉ and prepare an 8×8” baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, baking powder, salt, milk, applesauce, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir in three-fourths cup of diced apple.
    2 cup rolled oats, 1.5 tsp cinnamon, ⅛ tsp allspice, ⅛ tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp sea salt, 2 cup milk, ½ cup applesauce, ¼ cup maple syrup, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup apple
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining diced apple and chopped pecans.
