The day has come where everyone should have credit card scanning protection. If you think it can’t happen to you, think again. We are quite confident that it happened to my sister and me. I received product for this post. All opinions are my own.

Since I do not have a criminal mind, I am not completely sure how one does credit card scanning, but here’s my take on it. People have tiny scanners that easily swipe a person’s wallet or purse without them noticing. The scanner copies the numbers and data that criminals need to use the credit cards. I am sure there’s a lot more to it than that, but it’s beyond me. The only thing I am sure of is that it’s a real threat.

My sister and I both suspect our credit cards were scanned. Shelley’s credit cards had fraudulent charges after she attended a large event in the city. She didn’t use her credit card at the event, leading her to believe it must have been a scanner. The cards were in her possession, so that’s the only thing that makes sense. I have a similar situation but at a different event. Luckily, credit card companies are usually extremely helpful in these situations, but it’s still a GINORMOUS pain in the butt.

RFID protected material is required for credit card scanning protection. For a while, I had a tiny accordion-type wallet that looked like a metal briefcase. It worked for a bit but was far from attractive. After a while, all the little files that hold the cards broke. Thankfully, KORE has an option.

KORE reached out to me about their new product, and I was already excited. We have their Trakline belts, and Mike is obsessed with them. I am not kidding that he still tells me after more than a year how much he loves their belts. The wallets are targeted towards men, but I wanted one for myself, too.

The KORE Slim Wallet with Carbon Fiber Money Clip is made with fine leather and lined with RFID blocking material. The material blocks scanning and identify theft from your credit cards and IDs. I see why they are suggested for men — the super slim wallet is ideal for a back pocket. However, I am all about using one myself and keeping it in my purse.

Block credit card scanning

As slim as the wallet is, I have five credit cards in the center, and it’s not stuffed. In their video, it shows 6-8 cards fit nicely. My driver’s license is in the outside slot. The money clip is removable and holds up to 25 bills. If you are down to your last buck, it also holds on tightly to that – it won’t slip through. To release the credit cards inside, just pull the tab. They all slide out for you to grab.

I love that Mike and I both now have credit card scanning protection in these stylish wallets. I recommend them for men and women. Please take this scanning concern seriously, especially if you plan to visit a large city. It happens a lot more than you might think.

What do you do for credit card scanning protection?

I really like these. We just got cards with the chips in them, and I have been looking for something to protect them. My husband might actually like this one. 🙂

My husband LOVES his. At first he thought it would be too small… but nope. Now he uses the wallet exclusively.

This looks like a great product! So sad that your money isn’t even safe in your purse or pocket 🙁

RFID is seriously the way to go. I used to have a small RFID bag that I used when traveling that made life easier. I’m definitely going to have to check these wallets out, though!

This is awesome! It’s both scary and sad that we have to worry about this but necessary all at the same time.

I started using and RFID protected wallet all the time last year. I always did when I traveled and it just made sense to use one at home too. So many high tech crooks these days.
