Here is a festive 4th of July cookies recipe that’s perfect all summer.

Firecracker Bites – Red, White & Blue 4th of July Cookies Recipe
Here’s what you need to make these cookies. The measurements are in the recipe card below.
For the Dough:
- Sugar
- Butter
- Egg
- Vanilla extract
- Baking powder
- Flour
- Salt
- Red and blue food coloring
For the Frosting:
- Cream cheese
- Butter
- Vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar
- Star sprinkles

Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350° and grease a mini muffin pan with butter
- In a large mixing bowl, beat your sugar and butter with a hand mixer until light and fluffy
- Mix in your egg and vanilla
- Now mix in your flour, salt, and baking powder
- Separate your dough in half, add red food coloring to one, and blue to the other and mix
- Mix both colors of dough together and form into small bouncy ball sized balls
- Press each dough ball slightly into the bottom of each muffin mold
- Bake for 10 minutes
- Right when they come out of the oven press the center of the cookie down with your finger and let cool
- While your cookies are cooling, mix together your butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar until you have a thick creamy frosting
- Scoop the frosting into a large decorating bag and cut the tip off
- Frost the center of your cookies with a swirled motion
- Top off with just the blue and white star sprinkles and enjoy

Firecracker Bites Patriotic Cookies

Cute little red, white, and blue cookies perfect for the 4th of July or any summer party.
Ingredients
Dough
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 tbs butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- red food coloring
- blue food coloring
Frosting
- 5 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 3 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- star sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease mini muffin pan with butter
- In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter with a hand mixer until light and fluffy
- Mix in egg and vanilla
- Mix in flour, salt, and baking powder
- Separate dough into two parts. Mix blue food coloring in one and red in the other
- Mix both colors of dough together and form into small bouncy ball sized balls
- Press each dough ball slightly into the bottom of each muffin mold
- Bake for 10 mins
- Right out of the oven, press center of cookies to create an indent and let cool
- While your cookies are cooling, mix together butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar until you have a thick creamy frosting
- Scoop frosting into a piping bag and cut off tip
- Frost the center of the cookies using a swirled motion
- Top with blue and white star sprinkles and enjoy
